CHIESA ARCIPRETALE DI S. APOLLINARE

CHIESA ARCIPRETALE DI S. APOLLINARE

The church, overlooking the central piazza Farini, is dedicated to S. Apollinare. The building, built on project by the architect G. B. Campidori from Faenza, started to be erected in 1783 and was finished in 1788.

Inside the church is full of statues, masterpieces of the famous carvers Ballanti and Graziani from Faenza; the main altar, remarkable for its fine workmanship and precious marbles, comes from the suppressed church of Corpus Domini Nuns from Ravenna. The sacresty preserves three frescoes coming from the ancient church of Sant'Apollinare: they date back to the XIII century and are painted by an anonimous artist living in Romagna.
