PALAZZO VECCHIO

PALAZZO VECCHIO

The so called Palazzo Vecchio was build in the middle of the XIII century, during the Bolognese dominion, to host the chief "Podestà". Today the building houses some municipal offices and the Tourist Information Office.

Destroyed by a terrible fire, it was rebuilt and widened in the beginning of the XVIII century. During the Wolds War II it was bombed and then rebuilt again in the '50s, but the original structure was partially modified.

From the inner court yard of the palace it is possible to enter an old underground gallery, one of the few still existing evidences of the old stronghold of the town, and  the Armenian stele donated to the town of Bagnacavallo in 1998 by an Armenian town.

The build houses a wide public hall used for ehibitions and public meetings and lectures.
