CARNEVALE DI SAN GRUGNONE
An unusual Ash Wednesday. In XIX century Romagna, Ash Wednesday was known as “e’ dè d’ Sén Grugnõn”, the day of “San Grugnone", because people had a scowl (“grugno”) since carnival celebrations were over and Lent about to start.
Conselice has been celebrating again this tradition in an unusual way since 1919.
MONUMENTO AL RANOCCHIO - FROG'S MONUMENT
In a small green area in Conselice's town centre, it's located an original monument dedicated to the protagonist, against its will, of the famous local Festival of the Frog, taking place every year along the third week of September.
