PALAZZO FABIO TARLAZZI
This is the old palace of the family of Fabio Tarlazzi, founder of the charity 'Opera Pia Tarlazzi'. The building is now used to host exhibitions; it features original painted wooden ceilings, decorated walls and important historical documents and objects (XV and XVI century), which were found during the restoration works.
PALAZZO SFORZA
Ancient palace belonging to Sforza family. The palace was rebuilt in 1961 according to the original design.
PIEVE ROMANICA E CHIESA DI S. STEFANO
In Barbiano, four kilometres from Cotignola, the old Pieve (rural church) emerges as a balanced Romanesque construction built in the 10th century. The old structure was added at the back of the S. Stefano Protomartire Church by Cosimo Morelli.
TORRE DI JOHN HAWKWOOD
Hawkwood tower was built in 1376 by Sir John Hawkwood, famous English captain of a mercenary company, whose name in Italian had become Giovanni Acuto.
VAROLI ART MUSEUM
The art museum named after Luigi Varoli has four sections: one is the art scholl "Scuola Arte e Mestieri", the second is Varoli's house "Casa Varoli", the third Arialdo Magnani's house Varoli's pupil and the last part is located inside Palazzo Sforza. The museum is dedicated to the local artist Luigi Varoli (1889-1958), who had a strong influence on many local artists.
