FROM SAN PATRIZIO TO THE GROVE IN VIA DALLE VACCHE

This long naturalistic itinerary can be explored on foot or with a bicycle and will immerse the visitors in the ancient history of the wetlands around Conselice.
The itinerary starts from the mill in the village of San Patrizio, nearby Conselice (in via Selice 2), along the cyclists’ route through the grove of via Dalle Vacche; the itinerary crosses Conselice town centre and runs along the banks of the stream Sillaro, near the park of the River Po delta, amongst the wetlands of Valle Santa and the green area of Campotto.
This landscape presents its natural characteristics as well as man-made features which were created by reclaiming the wetlands; the area is equipped with information displays and there are also old wooden huts typical of this area.
This itinerary is a journey through the history of the area, whose inhabitants are closely connected to their trades of the recent past, such as rice and tobacco, still represented in the landscape by old warehouses. The recent rural past merges with the ancient naturalistic aspects of the local landscape, with wetlands and groves.
